Elbert Guillory
Civil Rights Leader.png

I was arrested protesting 14 times. I’ve endured dog bites, tear gas and fire hoses. America survived and so did I...  So have you. America is the greatest nation ever conceived by man.

Well Educated.png

My Grandfather was a slave..
His Grandson graduated from Rutgers, in Law. His Granddaughter is the first black woman to graduate from LSU Medical and is the head of Neonatal ICU at Texas Children’s Hospital and teaches Medicine at Baylor Med School. You can succeed with just hard work, it’s easier if you’re educated.

Public Servant.png

I have always enjoyed serving people.  I never did it for the money.  My business interests were for that. I am not your traditional ‘politician!’

Experienced.png

I have practiced Law in Lousiana for 40 years. Before that, I practiced Civil Rights Law for 12 years. I have traveled the world extensively, speak multiple languages and have enjoyed the pleasure of being extremely well read. Trust me, I know the world, but I’m not of it!

Former Senator.png

I served a term in the House and two in the Senate. In 2015, I was a favorite to win a third Senate term. But, I knew I was going to run for Congress in 2016. I stood down from the Senate.  I knew I would not be able to serve my constituents while running for Congress.  I believe it is all about Public Service.

Priorities

Crime

As a state Louisiana has been facing a crime epidemic for many years. We need to hold criminals accountable when they commit crimes. However, we also need to address the long term problems of poor education and high poverty rates in order to prevent crime in the future.

Illegal Immigration

The invasion of our Southern Border must end immediately. We must finish construction of the border wall and reinstate Remain in Mexico to end this crisis. The Biden Administration has done irreparable harm to our communities by leaving our borders open and it must stop.

Economy

Inflation is causing pain to millions of Americans. The average family is having to pay thousands of dollars a year extra just to survive. We must lower inflation and bring high paying jobs to Louisiana.

Infrastructure

Louisiana has some of the worst roads in America. As your congressman I will fight to bring additional federal dollars back to Louisiana fix our infrastructure. Additionaly, I will work to build a new bridge across the Mississippi River to reduce traffic.
